Does the TLC Weight Loss Program Really Work?

There are many approaches to losing weight. The question is, will the TLC Weight Loss Program work for you?

Several factors influence weight gain. Some women have been struggling with their weight since childhood. Others were fairly slim until they hit menopause, and watched with horror as their weight increased even though their food intake did not. Many women are emotional or stress-driven eaters, and use food to cope with the daily difficulties and demands placed upon them. Others are using food to stuff down the grief born of a difficult childhood.

Below you'll find several case studies. These are brief summaries of real women I have worked with. Each woman had very different issues and challenges, but the results were similar: each lost weight and kept it off. In the process they gained additional benefits, such as energy, insight, optimism, and peace of mind

Donna lost weight every time she went on a diet, but would struggle to stay with her food plan when the holidays rolled around. The diet would then become too difficult to maintain and she would regain some of the weight she lost. She would get very discouraged, give up, and the weight would pile back on. About six months later she would try again with another weight loss program, only to meet with the same results: she would lose weight until the holidays, gain weight, and give up.

I taught Donna how to use EFT to eliminate food cravings and manage the stress of the holidays. She also learned to use EFT to prepare herself for challenging situations such as office parties and family gatherings so that she could avoid overeating in these circumstances. In addition she discovered how EFT could help her change her beliefs about her ability to maintain her weight loss progress and attain her ideal weight.

Donna also engaged in hypnosis sessions that increased her motivation to eat well and exercise, even during the holidays. Through hypnosis she also created a vision of herself at her ideal weight and increased her confidence in her ability to achieve all of her goals, including healthy, appropriate weight loss.

She began to lose weight, and reported that the process felt remarkably easier than her past attempts. And when the holidays rolled around she was able to maintain her weight during them and then resume her weight loss progress when they were over.

Donna still uses EFT and hypnosis daily to keep herself on track. And when the holidays come around she knows how to use these two amazing techniques to maintain her weight loss progress.

Joanna was 45 years old. She enlisted my help because her weight had been creeping steadily upward since turning 40. This surprised and distressed her because she had been fairly thin when she was younger and had been able to eat whatever she wanted without gaining weight.

Joanna and I co-created an eating plan that minimized the junk food she had been eating while increasing her intake of low-glycemic, nutrient-rich whole foods. We developed an exercise program that would raise her metabolism while increasing energy and overall health.

She developed a daily practice of using EFT to eliminate food cravings and neutralize the emotional distress that sometimes drove her to overeat. She also began using hypnosis daily, making it easier for her to make healthy food choices and increasing her motivation to exercise.

Joanna not only lost weight, but her stress levels decreased, her energy levels soared, and she felt excited and optimistic. She looks better and she feels better than she has in years.

Claire had been struggling with her weight since she was very young. Her mother had been rather distant and her father was critical and overbearing. Although she had engaged in traditional psychotherapy and understood the dynamics of her upbringing and how they contributed to her current weight loss struggles, she still continued to sabotage her weight loss efforts by turning to food for comfort and distraction.

Through the steady use of EFT Claire was able to heal the wounds of her past. She learned to defuse the discomfort that had once accompanied old memories so that she could remember them without sadness or pain. Hypnosis helped expedite her healing by increasing her ability to forgive and let go.

Claire also developed mindfulness practices so that she could recognize the painful feelings that often drove her to overeat. She could then use EFT to neutralize that discomfort so that she could avoid eating compulsively.

Through the process of healing her past and neutralizing the emotional discomfort that prompted her food cravings, Claire stopped turning to food to ease her pain and stuff down her feelings. She began losing weight. More importantly, as she freed herself from her past she became happier, more joyful, and more content.
