Why TLC WELLNESS?

Weight Loss: Our approach to weight loss is holistic, addressing not only nutrition and exercise, but emotional eating as well. We provide reliable information, motivation, and support. We also employ mind/body techniques such as hypnosis and Emotional Freedom Technique, which help to address the negative feelings and beliefs which often sabotage our weight loss efforts.

Personal Training: Our aim is to help middle-aged and senior women discover and meet their fitness goals, co-creating a balanced program which takes into account their individualized needs, interests, objectives and possible physical restrictions, while encouraging and motivating them to reach their personal best. We are committed to assisting the mature woman in achieving the benefits of optimal health and in helping her make exercise a way of life.

Smoking Cessation: Smoking is a dangerous addiction that kills thousands of people every year, yet is a notoriously difficult habit to relinquish. However, by combining two powerful methods, hypnosis and Emotional Freedom Technique, you can acquire the ability to quit smoking and remain smoke-free forever.

EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

What is EFT? In simplest terms, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a psychological form of acupuncture. It is based on the meridian system, those channels of energy running through the body that are the basis of Chinese Medicine. There are several differences between these two healing modalities, however.

·Instead of using needles, we tap or rub certain meridian endpoints on the hands, face, and upper body.
·We usually use the same points all the time.
·We state an intention, tuning into the issue at hand. These statements do change, often with great frequency.
·It is self-applied. The person using EFT is not a passive recipient, but an active participant in the healing process.

In the words of Gary Craig, founder of EFT:
“EFT is a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simply stated, it is a unique version of acupuncture except you don't use needles. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says...

‘The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system.’

And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true...

‘Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases.’

This common sense approach draws its power from (1) time-honored Eastern discoveries that have been around for over 5,000 years and (2) Albert Einstein, who told us back in the 1920's that everything (including our bodies) is composed of energy. These ideas have been largely ignored by Western Healing Practices and that is why EFT often works where nothing else will. It's not that EFT is so stunning (although it may certainly appear that way to you). Rather, it is because conventional healing methods have simply overlooked the obvious. You will see that clearly as you allow EFT to bring freedom into your life where you thought none was possible.”

Here is a more scientific explanation from psychologist David Feinstein:

“Every thought or emotion that you experience causes a reaction in a specific area of your brain. Joy, or sadness, love or jealousy – all have distinctive counterparts in the way your neurons fire: modern electronic imaging technology allows us to view the intricate dance in your brain’s energies that accompanies your every thought and feeling. If you were to watch the screen of a brain imaging device such as a PET scan while you were experiencing substantial stress or anxiety, you would see specific areas receiving arousal signals that make the screen light up like a Christmas tree.

Energy psychology shows you how you can stimulate specific points on your skin that will send electo-mechanical signals directly to your brain. If at the same time you hold n your mind a situation that triggers an unwanted emotional response, you can actually shift your brain’s response to that situation. It is an unconventional approach, yet it frequently produces undeniable improvement in one session and often works where other approaches do not. You can also stimulate points to help you achieve specific personal goals, like thinking more positively, speaking more confidently, or eating more sensibly.”

My own experience with EFT has put me in total awe of its amazing power to change the way I perceive and feel about any situation in which I feel anxious, angry, guilty, or afraid. I have used it to improve my eating habits, let go of undesirable behavior, sleep better, increase my confidence and achieve my goals. I have healed old wounds and painful memories, allowing me to live my life in the present moment instead of seeing my experiences through the prism of past experience. In short, it has revolutionized my life, and continues to do so. And it can do the same for you.

"I used EFT for food cravings and it does work. It also worked on my fear of flying. A few months ago I went to Florida on vacation and I have an unbelievable fear of flying. I've always had a fear of flying and it got worse after 911. So I decided to use EFT instead of tranquillizers and surprisingly enough it did work. Now I do it when I feel I'm slipping into my old (eating) habits.

Also when I came back from vacation a co-worker commented on me saying "What person goes on vacation for a couple of weeks and looks like they lost weight?" That made me feel good. So thank- you for introducing EFT to me. I only wish I could convince my family and friends to try it."
Beany I.

"I went to Terry's EFT seminar and it was my first time working with this technique. It was amazing how quickly I saw results. This definitely is a great alternative to modern medicine and I would recommend it to anyone."
