Why TLC WELLNESS?

Weight Loss: Our approach to weight loss is holistic, addressing not only nutrition and exercise, but emotional eating as well. We provide reliable information, motivation, and support. We also employ mind/body techniques such as hypnosis and Emotional Freedom Technique, which help to address the negative feelings and beliefs which often sabotage our weight loss efforts.

Personal Training: Our aim is to help our clients discover and meet their fitness goals, co-creating a balanced program which takes into account their individualized needs, interests, objectives and possible physical restrictions, while encouraging and motivating them to reach their personal best. We are committed to assisting others in achieving the benefits of optimal health and in helping them make exercise a way of life.

Smoking Cessation: Smoking is a dangerous addiction that kills thousands of people every year, yet is a notoriously difficult habit to relinquish. However, by combining two powerful methods, hypnosis and Emotional Freedom Technique, you can acquire the ability to quit smoking and remain smoke-free forever.

PERSONAL TRAINING:
FITNESS INSTRUCTION FOR THE
WELL-SEASONED WOMAN

Are you a middle-aged or senior woman who
·Wants get in shape but don’t know where to start?
·Can’t find any age-appropriate instruction?
·Is turned off by the noisy, muscle –bulging, youth-oriented atmosphere of most gyms?

Then TLC Wellness Personal Training can help.

My mission is to teach women “of a certain age” how to reach their full potential as strong, healthy, fit, energetic human beings.

What do we do? As a personal trainer and a yoga teacher, my aim is to help other women discover and meet their health and fitness goals, co-creating a balanced program which takes into account their individualized needs, interests, objectives and possible physical restrictions, while encouraging and motivating them to reach their personal best. I am committed to assisting women in achieving the benefits of optimal health and in helping them make physical fitness a way of life.

How do we do this? I start by asking a lot of questions, such as these:
What are your goals?
· What do kind of physical activity do you enjoy?
· What is your schedule like and how can we fit exercise into that schedule?
· What is your health history and current health status?
· What is your current fitness level and where do we go from here?

I take a health history, perform some basic fitness evaluations, and discuss your goals, preferences and present schedule. Then we make a plan.

You make a commitment. A commitment to show up, do the work, and become the healthiest, fittest, most energetic woman you can be.

And I make a commitment. A commitment to be present for you, encourage you, be your cheerleader. A commitment to answer all of your questions and provide you with the most appropriate and up-to-date information and guidance. And a commitment to lead you step by step toward the achievement of your health and fitness goals.

Where do we train? I will work with you in the privacy of your own home and will teach you how to work out with whatever exercise apparatus you have available. If you have none, I can help you to invest in a minimal amount of equipment

I understand the reasons why some women shy away from large gyms -- the noise, the lack of direction, the travel back and forth and the time this entails. Rest assured that you can obtain great results by working out from your own home, whatever your goals may be.

I live in Woburn, MA, and am available for training in these towns:

Burlington, Lexington, Wilmington, Winchester, and Woburn

Why have I chosen this work? I am 50 years old (as of January 2006). I enjoy a high level of fitness because of the 18 years I taught aerobics, and I am extremely grateful for this. But I have noticed that there is not a lot of instruction or guidance for older women who want to get in shape. And this is a shame. Because to be a strong and healthy woman is to be joyous, energetic, and optimistic. These are wonderful years, full of possibility, and you will enjoy them all the more when you live in a body that feels vigorous, strong and powerful.

Here are just some of the benefits of mid-life fitness:
· Strong muscles
· Strong bones
· More energy
· Less stress
· Increased endurance
· Better health
· Weight loss
· Improved balance
· Optimal quality of life.

So make the commitment now to become the healthiest, fittest, most energetic and positive woman you can be. These are wonderful years. Enjoy them. Take care of your body and the quality of your life will soar.

"I worked with Terry for a year and enjoyed every moment. I liked working with a woman my age who understood a middle-aged woman's body and health concerns. Terry is motivational, knowledgeable, and very safety conscious. It was actually fun having a personal trainer, and the results were astonishing."
Mary-Jo from Boston

"I loved working with you. You were a joy, super knowledgeable, and I never got hurt!"
